Are you sporting a nice pair of sneakers, or possibly a new pair of clogs? Most of the time I wear flip flops, but for going out you can’t beat a good quality pair of boots.
Okay, well unless you’re Huck Finn himself, you’re probably enjoying some kind of fine footwear. It’s a pair of Dr. Martens boots. How comfortable are your feet now days?
I was out strolling through the mall for a new pair of shoes. You see, I never wore sneakers at all. Eventually I spotted a rack full of boots. Dr. Martens boots caught my attention specifically. I was all excited going back home in my new Dr. Martens boots. Now, five years down the road, I still only wear and enjoy Dr. Martens boots.
That first pair lasted three years. Then I purchased two new pair, one black and one brown, to suit all occasions. I believe I am hooked on Dr. Martens boots for life. How long does a typical pair of your shoes last? Furthermore, I can use my Dr. Martens boots in virtually any atmosphere.
The Strange History of Dr. Martens Boots

Resume by Stebta
Almost from the moment British shoe manufacturer R. Griggs Group launched the Dr. Martens 1460 model boot on April Fools Day 1960, the footwear was popular with British postmen, police officers, and factory workers. Over the years, skinhead culture became more violent and racist, and Dr. Martens boots became associated with soccer hooligans.
In the early seventies, some young soccer fans began painting team colors on their boots, although boots painted white were more popular. With soccer hooligans continuing to use their Dr. Martens to batter fans of opposing teams, police developed a new tactic of insisted that anyone wearing Dr. Martens remove the laces from the boots, reasoning that loose boots could do less damage. Boots could not be reclaimed until opposition fans left the stadium, at which point the barefoot fans would dash to reclaim their boots or, hopefully, a newer pair previously belonging to another.
The R. Griggs Group wisely decided against using Dr. Funck’s name on the boots for obvious reasons. By the start of the nineties, Dr. Martens had become wildly popular with young women, with some brides even wearing white patent leather pairs of the boots to their weddings.
